Jhene Aiko Sued For Rear-End Collision

RearCarAccident

A California woman has reportedly filed a personal injury traffic accident lawsuit against Jhene Aiko for allegedly rear-ending her car in an incident that took place in 2022. The “Back to the Streets” singer was involved in a car crash in July of that year.

The plaintiff contends that the accident, which occurred in Encino, California, was due to Aiko’s negligence. The plaintiff had stopped her car when she reached a red traffic light. She subsequently felt the impact of a rear-end collision as Aiki’s vehicle slammed into hers. She alleges that the incident left her with serious injuries.

According to the lawsuit, “[The plaintiff] was stopped at a traffic light when [Aiko] struck [her] from behind. Due to the negligent actions of [Aiko] while operating the motor vehicle, [the plaintiff] was injured in health, strength, and activity.”

The plaintiff claims that her injuries directly impacted both her health and her financial situation. She was required to pay for medical expenses out of pocket. In addition, the plaintiff claims to have lost wages and the use of her property. She blames Aiko for her loss of earning capacity and property damage. The plaintiff has requested that a judge make Aiko pay an undisclosed amount of money to compensate her. She is demanding a jury trial.

Elements of negligence and rear-end collisions

Rear-end collisions are some of the most common forms of traffic accidents. An individual is stopped at a red light or traffic has slowed and another vehicle slams into the back of them. In this case, as in most cases, the accident is almost always the fault of the rear-end driver. The rear-end driver can claim that the other driver contributed negligence to the accident, but specific circumstances would have to apply. For example, if the driver abruptly and without warning slammed on their brakes. In certain instances, you can claim that a broken tail light contributed to the accident. However, in most cases, the rear-end driver is the one who contributed all of the negligence to the accident, and that appears to be the case with Aiko and the plaintiff.

This isn’t the first traffic accident Aiko has been involved in. In August 2013, Aiko revealed that she and her daughter were left injured due to a “bad car accident”. While she didn’t go into specifics, Aiko shared that the collision left her with a chipped tooth. She also said she suffered a broken wrist and that her chin required stitches.
